Search & Research
Seven search areas, one principle: you fill in mandatory fields, start the search, filter and export. Here you can find out what each area does and what you need to pay attention to.
PRINCIPLE
What applies to every search
All seven search areas in the MOP work according to the same pattern. Once you have understood this, you will find your way around everywhere.
Mandatory fields first
Each search mask has mandatory fields, recognizable by the red asterisk. You must fill in at least these fields, otherwise the search will not start. The time frame is always mandatory by default.
Observe time periods
Data is available for 180 days retrospectively. In authorizations, transactions and payments, individual searches are limited to a maximum of 31 days. If you need more, make several searches.
Date format
Always enter dates in the format TT.MM.JJJJ. Alternatively, select via the calendar function – this also shows you on which days dates are available.
Amounts with decimal point
For amounts, the decimal point is the decimal separator, not the period. 15,99 is correct. 15.99 is interpreted by the system as 1.599,00.
Hit limit
A search will show a maximum of 3000 hits. If you get more, you will have to narrow the search or split the time period.
More / Less search criteria
You can display advanced filters in the transaction search – such as processing and settlement date or merchant zip code. Weniger Suchkriterien fades them out again.
THE SEVEN SEARCH AREAS
What each area does
Here you can search for authorization requests to the card issuer – the first step of every payment process. Approved or declined, with reason code.
What you need it for: To understand the reasons for refusal (e.g. card expired, PIN incorrect), to check whether a specific authorization has been issued, to view reservations and cancellations.
Important search parameters: Transaktionsdatum (mandatory, max. 31 days), Transaktionszeit, Transaktionsbetrag von–bis, Transaktionswährung, Referenznummer, Autorisierungsnummer (6 digits), Terminal-ID (8 digits).
Tip: In the result you will see the Action Code. 000 means “successful”, other codes such as 101 (card expired) or 117 (PIN incorrect) show the reason for rejection. Full text description in the detailed view.
The central search area for your actual transactions. Here you can see what was posted, processed and billed and when.
What you need it for: Tracking daily turnover, finding individual transactions (by card number, reference or terminal), checking processing status, supplying accounting with individual data.
Basic mask vs. extended mask: In the basic screen, the most common filters (date, amount, currency, brand, status, reference, card number, terminal ID). Via Mehr Suchkriterien you can open extended fields such as processing and settlement date, merchant zip code or customer number.
Tip: If you search for Brand and the processing status is verarbeitet, the field Brandprodukt will also appear. This allows you to filter specifically for Visa Debit or Mastercard Corporate.
Collectors are daily transactions per terminal. Here you can see how many transactions were summarized in which amount on one day.
What you need this for: reconciling the daily closing of a terminal, assigning a collector ID to a specific payout, clarifying differences between the cash balance and the bank credit.
Important search parameters: Cutoff-Datum (mandatory), Sammler-ID (max. 7 digits), Terminal-ID.
Balances show you the outstanding amount that has not yet been paid out. Important for liquidity planning.
What you need it for: To see what amounts are currently “in the pipeline”. Estimate payment dates. Recognize differences between target and actual payments.
Payments are the actual payments to your bank account – including date, amount and reference to the associated transactions.
Why you need this: Check whether a payout has been received. Compare payout totals with bank account statement. Drill down to the individual transactions of a payout.
Drill-down tip: If a value in the column is underlined – such as the payout amount – you can click on it to see the associated transactions.
Chargebacks are chargebacks carried out by the card issuer – triggered, for example, by a complaint from the cardholder.
What you need it for: Overview of all chargebacks in the period, check the reason for the complaint and the amount involved, early warning if the chargeback rate increases.
Important: Chargebacks have legal deadlines. If you find a chargeback unjustified, clarify this promptly with your TeleCash contact person – objection deadlines are often short.
Interchange data shows the interchange fee – i.e. the share of the transaction retained by the card issuer. Only relevant for merchants with an IC++ model.
What you need it for: Detailed breakdown of your acquiring costs, comparison of interchange rates by card brand, optimization of your condition structure.
Note: This area is only visible if it has been activated separately. If you work with blended pricing, this search area is not available. Mandatory fields are Verarbeitungsdatum and Brand.
SEARCH MORE EFFICIENTLY
Three practical tips
Tighter rather than wider
If you are looking for a specific transaction, enter as many filters as possible. Otherwise you will quickly reach the hit limit of 3000 and unspecific searches will take longer.
Drill down instead of multiple searches
Underlined values in results lists are clickable and take you to the next level – for example, from a payout to the individual transactions. Saves a whole separate query.
Remember columns
If you regularly need the same data, configure the columns once. The selection remains until you change it again.
